Session 1 Governor Roles and Responsibilities

The Governors “Roles and Responsibilities” session is designed to equip governors with the tools and knowledge to be more effective in their role.

To ensure that the governing body understand what they HAVE to do and SHOULD do to enable and support school leaders to continue school improvement. The courses will:
• Equip you to understand the “Statutory Function” of the Governing Body
• Enable you to develop your role of “challenge and support”
• Have an overview not only of what OfSTED would expect but also what the school should expect of its governing body
