Lincoln DBE Spirituality

In December, during the LDBE team day, we spent time exploring and learning about spirituality. We looked at statistics, art, faith, religion, and insights from knowledgeable thinkers in this area. This created space for us to ask questions, discuss ideas, and deepen our understanding of what spirituality means.

We then had some individual time to reflect—going for a walk, looking at photos on our phones, or considering anything that brings us joy or “fills us up.” When we came back together to share, it quickly became clear that although we are all very different, there were shared themes in our reflections. These themes helped us begin building a lexicon of spirituality unique to our team. This can be seen on the final slide of the presentation below.

As we move forward, we will use these words in our work together—when planning reflections and CPD, during team days, and throughout our meetings—so that our team may continue to flourish spiritually.

That afternoon, we used one of our chosen words for an end‑of‑term activity linked with Christmas and spent time creating Christmas wreaths. This was the culmination of the Advent reflections the team had been taking part in since the beginning of December.
