1:1 Teaching Assistant - Baston CofE Primary School

1:1 TEACHING ASSISTANT POST (PART-TIME)

Grade 3 SCP 6-9/£18,562-£19,698 pro rata

The school is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, confident and caring person to join our committed team. We are looking for someone with a genuine passion and belief in the potential of every child, someone who will be able to work with other Teaching Assistants and teachers to realise this.

The successful candidate will hold the role of 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a child who joined our Early Years class in September 2020 with an Education Health and Care Plan.

The successful applicant will:

  • ensure the educational, personal, emotional and social development of the child;
  • support 1:1 teaching with respect to learning programmes designed by the class teacher;
  • have some experience of working (and keeping up) with children J
  • provide enhanced supervision across some playtimes and lunchtimes to enable inclusion into social activities;
  • monitor the individual pupil’s progress and achievements and report these to the class teacher and parents as appropriate;
  • attend relevant training within a continuous professional development programme;
  • have a flexible approach to work

The successful applicant should also be willing to undertake further duties as required by the Headteacher.

This 20-hour contract will be temporary and will commence from the earliest date possible following appointment.

How the 20 hours are distributed across the week can be negotiated at interview but would need to cover every day of the week.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Scampton C of E Primary School is looking to recruit several governors to join the school governing body from September 2020. Do you have any of these skills? Finance, HR, Managing Change You don’t need to have experience of school governance because induction will be provided. What’s the commitment? 6 meetings a year and governor monitoring visits to school. What do the children say?
