A Year in Admissions

Date: Wed 22nd September

Cost: £30

Time: 4pm – 6pm

For: Headteachers, Office or Business Managers, Admissions Officers, Chairs of Governors

Facilitator:  Alison Jacobson (AGO)

All SATs MATs and VA schools are their Own Admission authorities (OAAs).  This brings specific legal responsibilities, as set down in the Schools Admissions Code.  This session will explore in practical terms what it really means for OAAs to fulfil their statutory obligations;  like going out to public consultation when a school or academy wishes to change its admission arrangements and setting clear over-subscription criteria – particularly faith criteria.

“Very helpful session, the statutory requirements for

an admissions consultation are

much more extensive than we’d realised “
