Governor Church School Induction
This event will take place between 4:00pm and 6:00pm on 15/10/2026

This session explores the core statutory functions of governors in a Church of England school or academy, providing an overview of the legal responsibilities associated with leading a school with a church foundation. Participants will gain an understanding of the purpose, powers, and duties of governing boards, as well as the legal framework within which they operate.
The session will also examine the differences between Voluntary Aided schools, Voluntary Controlled schools, and academies, and provide an overview of the governor's role in a SIAMS inspection. Through a focus on school vision and Christian distinctiveness, participants will consider how governors can contribute strategically to their school's vision and ensure it is embedded throughout all aspects of school life.
