This training is highly recommended for governors with responsibility for SEND in a Church school, but it will also be relevant for school leaders and SENDCOs who wish to reflect on the latest publications and strengthen their SEND strategy.

The session will begin by exploring the Church of England’s vision for an inclusive education and its theological foundations, before considering how this vision can be lived out in the inclusive culture of a Church school. Governors will have the opportunity to reflect on how such a culture can be communicated through SIAMS evaluation and inspection, as well as examine the requirements of the new inclusion grade in the 2025 Ofsted framework and toolkit. Time will also be given to exploring the implications of the recently published Education Committee report, Solving the SEND Crisis (18/9/25). By the end of the training, governors will leave with a clear direction for the next phase of strategic development in their schools, supported by a set of practical questions to guide their monitoring and evaluation.
