The Diocese of Lincoln operates a system of Bishop's Visitors. These are volunteers who provide another link between the Diocese and its Church Schools. Bishop's Visitors take an interest in the life of the school, provide pastoral support and act as an advocate for the school in the community; as such they are an important part of the support network for the family of Church Schools.

What is a Bishop’s Visitor?

The purpose of having a Bishop’s Visitor in a school is:

• to provide pastoral support to the school
• to foster the link between the school and the Diocese and the Lincoln Diocesan              Board of Education team
• to foster good relationships within the school, between the local church, and the                wider community
• to encourage and support the school in upholding its Christian ethos through its            vision and values
• to have a Christian presence supporting and enhancing the distinctive nature of the school.

Each visitor has individual strengths and skills through which, in close cooperation with the school, they will develop their own valued contribution to school life. Each year Bishops Visitors are given an opportunity to meet with other Bishop's Visitors for training and sharing good pr  In the Spring term the Diocesan Education Team host a conference with contributions from the Bishop of Lincoln and the Diocesan Director of Education. The conference provides a training opportunity, a time to share experiences and time for spiritual reflection. Safeguarding

Ensuring the safety and well-being of every individual in our Church school communities is of the highest priority. In line with current national safeguarding legislation you will be asked to complete an electronic Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Details of how to do this will be sent on receipt of your application pack. References will be requested and an informal interview arranged with the Bishop’s Visitor Coordinator or a member of the Diocesan Education Team.
